U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., praised the proposed rule announced today by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) that aims to ensure fair access to banking services, capital and credit for businesses. The announcement comes after businesses within the energy, firearm and other industries issued complaints for being unfairly denied financing.

“I’m glad all industries under this proposed rule will have a fair shot without being prejudicially denied service for apparently partisan reasons,” Enzi said. “This is about protecting American values and ensuring that banks are not denying critical services to entire sectors of our country’s economy. I applaud the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency for action on this issue."
