Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., praised the state of America’s growing economy and commented on positive job creation numbers released today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

“The numbers released today reflect a positive economy across the entire country. About 243,000 new jobs were created in February along with over 2 million new jobs created over the past year. Following the devastating hurricanes, the ongoing war on terrorism and high energy prices it is pleasing to see our economy continues to grow. I will continue to work on legislation that will provide tax relief for businesses and workers, affordable healthcare for our nation’s families and continue to encourage fiscal discipline while being a good steward of the taxpayer dollar.

“In Wyoming unemployment levels are low but the housing shortage is high. Now one of our tasks is to provide housing for workers we are trying to recruit. If we want Wyomingites we need to have decent forms of housing for their families. I’m also working on job training legislation to help workers obtain the skills they need to move up the ladder. Next week in the Senate Health Committee I hope to finish a bill that will help hundreds of thousands of people working in small businesses get health insurance.”
