Washington, D.C. – Natrona County is set to receive grant funding from the Federal Aviation Administration for airport improvements, according to U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo.

Natrona County International Airport will receive $650,000 in grant funds to design the reconstruction and rehabilitation of a taxiway and add a loading bridge to the newly modified terminal building. The construction of a new loading bridge will bring the airport into compliance with the American Disabilities Act.

The grant, from the Airport Improvement Program (AIP), is part of an overall effort to assist with airport maintenance, planning and repairs in Wyoming. The AIP provides funding to airports to assist them in development and planning. Airports are able to use the money on projects that support aircraft operations including runways, taxiways, aprons, noise abatement, land purchase, safety and emergency or snow removal equipment.
