The Supreme Court deadlocked today on President Obama’s plan to grant amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants in the U.S. That means a lower court’s ruling against the plan stays in place.
U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., has been a vocal critic of the president’s amnesty plan.
“The president can’t decide to just grant executive amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants. Contrary to what he may believe, the representatives of the people in Congress write the laws, not the president, so the courts should have struck it down,” said Enzi. “Our country is struggling with an illegal immigration problem, but amnesty is not the solution.”
