U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., applauded the reopening of the IRS’s Taxpayer Assistance Center in Cheyenne. According to the IRS, the office was temporarily closed due to loss of staffing but will now reopen on March 6.

Enzi sent a letter in February to Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig requesting the office be reopened.

“It is important that Wyomingites can depend on timely assistance during the filing season and throughout the year and that the IRS lives up to its mission and service to the nation’s taxpayers,” Enzi said.

The IRS said the office will be open Wednesday through Friday. The hours of operation will be Wednesday 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (closed from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. for lunch), Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (closed from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. for lunch) and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

To schedule an appointment, taxpayers can call 844-545-5640.
