U.S. Senator Mike Enzi issued the following statement regarding Common Good’s efforts to restore the freedom of officials and citizens to use common sense:
“Washington needs more practical and responsible bills. The overarching goal of Common Good helps us remember that our government and our laws should be focused on actually helping hardworking families across the country, not just creating an overcomplicated bureaucracy. The best ideas are the ones that keep in mind what actually works, instead of harmful policies that restrict the ability of folks to take action. We should unleash their productivity and empower their personal responsibility to improve our country.”
Background: The Common Good initiative is a nonpartisan coalition created by Philip K. Howard in 2002. The initiative focuses on government reforms to provide common sense policies, simplify bureaucratic structures and promote individual responsibility. Former U.S. Senator Al Simpson, R-Wyo., currently serves as an advisory board member.
