Small biz bill targets regulations, paves way for growth

Bipartisan effort puts America’s job creators first

March 22, 2012

Helping small businesses grow and attract new investors was the aim of bipartisan legislation that the Senate passed today with a vote of 73-26.  U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., joined his colleagues in supporting the Jumpstarting Our Business Startups (JOBS) Act which would remove costly regulations and make it easier for small businesses to access capital crucial for growth.

“Every large and successful company was once a small, struggling business that began with an idea,” said Enzi. “Entrepreneurs are the backbone of our economy. Regulation and red tape shouldn’t hinder their ability to grow and create jobs.”

The House passed its version of the JOBS Act last week by a vote of 390-23.  It encompasses numerous small business proposals that Republicans and Democrats agree will help level the playing field for America’s entrepreneurs.
