Delegation urges attendance, comments

August 5, 2008

Washington, D.C. - The Bureau of Reclamation (BOR), following pressure from the Wyoming delegation, has set and confirmed a meeting in Casper later this month, for citizens to comment on a newly proposed rule that would impact homes and facilities on land managed by the BOR.

U.S. Senators Mike Enzi and John Barrasso, both R-Wyo., and Representative Barbara Cubin, R-Wyo., encourage all area residents to attend the meeting on Aug. 28 at 6 p.m. at the Best Western Ramkota Hotel (800 N. Poplar) in Casper. Members of the BOR will be on hand to explain and get feedback on the proposed exclusive use rule.
Proposed Rule

A revised rule proposed by the BOR makes clear how private individuals may use BOR lands, facilities and waterbodies, including private, exclusive uses of those lands from trailers and mobile homes. The 60-day public comment period for this proposed rule is open until Sept. 16, 2008.

Individuals interested in additional information on the rule or those wishing to make comments can visit www.regulations.gov and use identification number BOR-2008-0004 to access the rule and comment sections. Comments can also be sent by mail to Bureau of Reclamation, Denver Federal Center, P.O. Box 25007, Denver, CO 80225–0007, Attention: Richard Rizzi, Mail Code: 84–53000.
