Washington, D.C. – The Powell Recreation District would be the proud owners of federal land that currently houses its shooting range after years of attempting to obtain the land if a bill introduced by U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., is successful.
The Enzi bill would transfer land that currently houses a shooting range from the Bureau of Land Management to the Powell Recreation District which currently operates the site. Everyone involved agrees that the current use of the land as a shooting range is the best use possible.
“The people of Powell would clearly be the best managers of this land,” said Enzi. “They’ve been running the gun range there for years and have a better understanding of how to manage the land than anyone in Washington ever could.”
Senator Barrasso is a co-sponsor of this bill.
